Construction Contractors
A General Contractor is a person or firm which contracts for projects such as the construction of a government building, hospital, or school. This contractor oversees projects from start to finish, including the selection, hiring, and payment of subcontractors (e.g. plumbers, electricians, etc.).; coordinates all the work and is responsible for payment to all subcontractors and vendors.
The General Contractor is the party that performs or supervises the construction or development of a property pursuant to the terms of a primary contract with the property owner. The General Contractor. may use its own employees to perform the work and/or the services of subcontractors when doing so is the best interest of the client.
